"By the Matrix!... Or Inferno... or Pit or Whatever!".   -- Primis        1-15-00,  2:50PM
There's a lot to be said for a community that just won't let a fantastic story die. And apparently Transformer Fans (or TransFans as they are called) are one such community.  And as such, the fruits of their labors are finally starting to show.

First of all SychoSyd wrote in with possibly the coolest news in a while.  I was lukewarm to it at first but the more I started thinking about it, the cooler it seemed.  SuperMegaMedia is in the process of doing some Very Cool Things<TM> with movies.  One of which is a brand new Transformers movie created entirely in photo-realistic CGI.  It will apparently be based on the Classic Transformers and span quite a bit of the back-history on it.  If the CGI's are anything like that in Beast Wars, I'm there. The original toys are also supposedly being remade and rereleased soon.  SuperMegaMedia is also in production for a CGI feature based on Final Fantasy, and pre-production for films based on the Heavy Gear and Everquest series'.  And you thought gaming never got you anywhere in life?.

But wait, there's more!  We know Ben Yee's fantastic Beast Wars website is currently undergoing renovations.  So in the meantime be sure to check out Metrolynx's Beast Wars Episode Summaries page to see which episodes are upcoming (especially if you're like me and tape certain episodes).  Especially take note that "Bad Spark" and "Code of Hero" are coming up in a couple episodes (if FOX airs them in their correct order) -- which also mean "The Agenda" series is not too far off either.  "Bad Spark" looks like it will air on Tuesday, January 26th, and "Code of Hero" Wednesday, January 27th.

Another Sports Tragedy.   -- Primis        1-12-00,  10:50PM
ESPN.COM has an article on the death of Charlotte Hornet's guard Bobby Phills. And here I was hoping after Stewart and Payton a few months ago that I wouldn't have to report any more of these for a while.

I really need to weigh in on an issue here though.  A lot of people are making an issue out of the fact that he was travelling at a high rate of speed exceeding the speed limit, but those people who do have never driven in Charlotte so they can just shut up.  The average speed limit of traffic there in a 45 or 50mph zone is generally 70 to 75mph -- and that's merely if you want to stay with the flow of traffic.  I can recall times travelling on Wilkinson Blvd.at 80mph and being passed by cars left and right.  Maybe this incident will finally convince Charlotte-Mecklenburg police that they HAVE to do something about the speeding. On I-77, Wilkinson, John Belk Freeway, Independence Blvd... it's all a death-trap waiting to happen.

And one final, but no less important note.  In my time spent in Charlotte, and as much as I hated most of the Charlotte Hornets organization, Bobby Phills seemed like the only likable guy in the entire organization, and no doubt he will be missed.

Two words... 'TRON'.... No Wait That's Only One...   -- Primis        1-10-00,  11:50PM
File this under the "Too Geeky to Be Healthy" section.  Some guy went out and has produced an OpenGL version of the classic Tron called (originally enough) "glTron".  Admittedly the screenshots are pretty neat-looking.  But honestly now, let's all do this simultaneously...  "Why?"  :-) Thank to Draco de Verde for pointing this out... I won't even ask WHERE he found it except I'm guessing from a GL site.  ;-)

"My CD Collection for my Legos!"...   -- Primis        1-9-00,  1:50AM
I miss my Legos.  I used to mess with them all the time.  Quite frankly, Legos being the Toy of the Century<TM> is probably an accurate statement.  I remember my senior year in high school that a Senior Party at a teacher's house gradually become LegoFest '96 when a bunch of us discovered that the teacher's kids had a large cache of Legos.

BrickShelf.com is one for Lego freaks everywhere.  I know Slashdot featured it in its Quickies several days ago, but I don't care.  It has all sorts of pictures/scans, and plans for Lego sets.  It's enough to make me ache for my buckets again *grin*.

MIDI Is Back.   -- Primis        1-9-00,  1:45AM
I have been obsessed with MIDI for longer than I've had Internet access.  A fair guess would be around 6 years or so, probably.  I remember back when the online MIDI scene was booming before the RIAA played KillJoy<TM> and cried "Copyright Infringement" on cover MIDI's.  And I missed the joy of finding new MIDI's.

No more longing.  A steady stream of true MIDI sites is back, andone of my current favorites for cover MIDI's is The MIDI Database.  This site is showing serious promise in the "Updating Daily" category, and also to be honest just plain looks nice.  If you're like me and ache for cover MIDI's, check it out.

My Dream Come True.   -- Primis        1-9-00,  1:35AM
Finally, a professionally-done Christian Hard Rock station online other than KADU/Rev Radio.  ChristianRock.Net not only plays the oft-overlooked format, but also has all sorts of very useful data on their site like charts (Top 99 of 1999 is interesting), playlists, and more.  Also an app available that shows what's playing and what songs are on-deck, which too many online stations curiously don't have.

Prìomh Picks.   -- Primis        1-6-00,  11:35PM
Oodles of people always end up asking what music I'm currently listening to, along with other things.  So to remedy this I decided on Prìomh Picks -- it will tell you what things are currently on my HotList at the moment.  For the next couple days it will be "Under Construction", but once I decide on how I want it layed out it should remain fairly static except for my updates of its content.

Site Stuffles.   -- Primis        1-5-00,  4:35PM
Hang tight because I'm back off my self-imposed holiday leave and the site will be back to being updated regularly again.  Coming up very soon, a new Prìomh.Com Poll, along with a Poll Archives section where all previous polls' results will be stored so you, the reader, can check back with them well after the voting process is done.

While I'm back to updating, the site does need to be cleaned up a bit yet and the archives need to be updated for December, 1999.  That will be taken care of hopefully by tonight.  If not, then sometime tomorrow.

And boy do I have some fun stuff for you readers coming up.

I Really Don't Think Omni's Were Meant For This...   -- Primis        1-5-00,  4:25PM
SychoSyd pointed me to this great link about a couple guys with way too much time on their hands, and a Dodge Omni.  Known as Project: Omni, it's amazing these guys have lived as long as they have already.  My favorite is the Side-Impact Crash Test...

KADU Radio No More?...   -- Primis        1-5-00,  4:05PM
Hot on the heels of Christcore, now things have happened at KADU -- The Rock in Minnesota.  KADU was the nation's first full-time Christian hard Rock format station and it now appears the moniker "KADU -- The Rock" is now gone.  Instead it is now known as Revolution Radio (or as they have been saying on the air "Rev Radio").  You can read all about it here.  They appear to be playing basically the same format (though now they call it Agressive Modern Rock) but I must say, unless they have serious plans to branch out much like KEFX Twin Falls, ID -- The Effect, they were better off staying The Rock. (and yes, they still are a *Christian* rock station).

And if they do branch out they had best stick a station here in southern Michigan or I am going to be very angry...  *grin*.  And by the way if anyone from KADU... er... Rev Radio is reading this and is looking for air talent for any new upcoming stations, contact me here.
